@Necrotenki_Wongwat i think you might have exaggerated ideas of how incompetent the Chinese government is. Certainly there are policies it has which are unfortunate, and some of the economic control is problematic and self defeating. But if the government was completely incompetent it would not be one of the largest economies in the world, second largest country by population, and relatively stable. In this story China’s government isn’t super effective or anything, it’s portrayed as somewhat able to handle the apocalypse like the US and a few other countries, while still encountering crises like the free cities issue. That seems like a pretty reasonable take.
