The Invincible Holy Spirit is Definitely Not a Newbie

Chapter 30: 30

Yu'er's words made her anxious, and she quickly said,

"It's not sister Liuli's fault! Although Yu'er is still young, she understands basic social etiquette. Sister Liuli, you're overthinking!"

Taken aback by Yu'er's momentum, Shi Liuli took a step back, feeling embarrassed.

Are all little girls this assertive these days?

But Yu'er is right. She may have been overthinking, but that doesn't change what Shi Liuli wants to say next.

"I want to ask for your opinions on something."

Cui'er looked up at Shi Liuli, sensing something, and their golden eyes met.

"Would you like to come with me?"

With her gaze fixed on the two, Shi Liuli revealed the decision she had already made before coming here.

Although she appeared calm on the outside, Shi Liuli was extremely nervous inside, afraid that Yu'er and Cui'er would reject her.

It wasn't because she was particularly kind-hearted, but because she felt a connection with these two sisters. Perhaps "fate" may sound mysterious, but that's how inexplicable it was.

If Yu'er running into her on the street was just a coincidence, everything that followed couldn't be described as such.

She happened to stay in that inn, encountered Yu'er being bullied, and then Shi Liuli saved Cui'er, who should have been beyond help. What made Shi Liuli feel that it was destined was Cui'er's eyes.

Those eyes felt like they came from the same source as her own, but Shi Liuli knew it was impossible. Her eyes were unique, and no one else could possess them.

Indeed, Cui'er's eyes, while similar to Shi Liuli's on the surface, were also different in some way that Shi Liuli couldn't explain.

But what ultimately led her to make this decision was that Shi Liuli saw her past self in Yu'er and Cui'er...

Setting aside Shi Liuli's thoughts for now, let's return to Yu'er and Cui'er's perspective.

Cui'er didn't react much after hearing Shi Liuli's proposal. She had a sense deep down that Shi Liuli would say this. She didn't know where this intuition came from, it felt like it was destined, and she just knew it beforehand.

But Yu'er didn't have Cui'er's mysterious intuition, and Shi Liuli's sudden suggestion startled her.

For a moment, she thought she misheard.

Would anyone be willing to take them in?

After all, they were beastmen, and they were alone and destitute. And there were two of them. Wealthy families might manage, but ordinary people couldn't afford it.

Even if it were a wealthy family, it didn't mean they would be well-intentioned and take them in without any reason.

I don't think so.

Yu'er didn't believe it.

But the one proposing to take them in was Shi Liuli, which made her have to consider it.

After all, she and Cui'er couldn't go on like this forever. Perhaps a turning point would come in the future, but wasn't this a turning point now?

Not only did Shi Liuli not hold a grudge against her for bumping into her, but she also didn't mind the dirt and odor on her. She asked with great kindness if she needed help, and then she saved her and Cui'er. For them, it was a tremendous favor.

At least there were no issues with Shi Liuli's character, Yu'er firmly believed that.

But this led to another question: Could Shi Liuli afford to support both of them?

Yu'er's knowledge of Shi Liuli was limited to just knowing her, and she barely knew anything about Shi Liuli's specific circumstances.

It wasn't that Yu'er had high expectations, it was just the reality. If Shi Liuli's financial situation couldn't support the basic needs of the two of them, they would become a burden.

Yu'er didn't want that.

Seeing Yu'er's concerns, a hint of admiration flashed in Shi Liuli's eyes—she was considering the well-being of others at such a young age and knew how to objectively evaluate the situation. It was truly commendable for her age.

This further solidified her intention to take in the two sisters.

"You don't have to worry about causing any trouble for me, I'm fully capable of taking care of you," Shi Liuli said, with a slightly mischievous smile.

"But... I'm a bit lazy, so I can't take care of everything. That means you'll have to think about your own private life."
