Screechhhh!

A sharp scream echoed through the cave.

(Is that a bat?)

My body shivered and i felt goose bumps appear all over my body.

I have been venturing through the narrow pathway lined with rough walls. It was almost complete darkness. When i held out my hands directly in front of me, i could hardly notice it. It was as if my hand blended in with its surrounding, just showing up as a slightly darker shadow.

So far i haven't encountered any sign of an exit

Hmm, are you wondering how i am navigating through the cave?

Well, i dont. I just stick to the walls in hopes of going somewhere. If the scroll i received had continued shining, it would have been much better. Heck, i don't even know if i have encountered a intersection or not. Who knows how long it would take to get out of this cave or if there is even an exit.

At this point i think i might lose my mind and start talking out loud. In that case whatever thats in this cave would probably find me and give me a fantastic experience. One that i would have to bet my life on.in the case that i survive, it might as well give me PTSD.

It was then i felt my leg suspended in the air

My heart dropped.

The wind brushed past my cheeks as my whole body tilted and fell down.

Thud.

I gave out a small yelp which was too high pitched for it to be expected from a boy

(This damned uneven terrain)

Despite the drop being around 3 metres only, it felt like one of the longest falls i had ever experienced.

Having been stolen of my sense of sight made the experience many times scarier. (Was it because i was that scared of falling or because i didn't expect it)

A cold chill swept over the floor of the cave.

(Wind!)

I got up and followed the constant stream of cold wind coming from my left.

ScCREeChHHh!.!!!!

The scream from the creature (bat?) echoed once more throughout the cave.

(Yikes, he sounds angry. Very angry. All i did was let out a yelp though.)

I held out my hands directly in front of me and ran forward hoping to not hit a wall.

Scrape*

(Damn it)

Blood trickled down my palms, as i pushed off the wall and changed the direction i was facing without straying from where the cold wind was coming from.

Step, step step

WHOOSH,shine*

A gush of freezing wind smacked me from the side, as i turned around, i was flash banged by the sudden burst of light.

A white background greeted me

(Snow?... Thats probably the worst starting place. The cave is better right?)

A monster with a bat head and a werewolf’s body charge at me as ran for the exit

(Nope. To freezing h*ll we go)

I felt my blood rush through my body as i ran against the rush of cold wind pushing me back.

I sprinted out into the white wasteland while looking back at that monster slowly catching up to me

(Im running at full speed already though?)

Stomp stomp STOMP

(It stopped?)

The monsters foot shot out rib shaped bones from its legs that anchored into the ground.(Huh?)

The bat head then shined brightly with a purple light that spread throughout the body like veins. (Huh?!???)

Whirrrrrrrrr

The glowing parts of the body then converged in the chest of the monster while the ribs which seemed to be visible in its body contorted and opened up into a

Claw-like shape.

Just like that, a purple beam shot out as the claw twisted in its chest.

(Dodge that thing DODGE that.DOdgEdODGedODGeDOooooodgge)

BOOOOOMM

A small crater was formed lying in the wakes of the beams destruction. Small sparks of lightning were shot out of the crater, creating something akin to a lightning ball.

Crackle*

A small flash was created as the ball of lightning burst, spreading its trail in all directions, melting the snow around it.

Sizzle*

My jaw dropped as i watched it happen right beside me. It was a miracle that i was not directly hit by that attack, leaving the scene with just a 2nd degree burn on my arm and the abrasion from scraping the walls of the cave.

I looked back at the cave with the monster standing still, staring at me with malice

Thankfully, it didn't follow me

(Why? But its good for me though)

I heaved a sigh of relief.

Shivering, i scooped up some snow with my shirt that was supposed to have water stored in it

I carefully applied the snow on my arm, hoping to quell the pain and stop the bleeding.

(I need to find shelter as soon as possible)

I took my somewhat dry t shirt and wrapped it around my face.

Trudging through the snow i set my sights on the area that seemed to be more concentrated with dead trees.

Huff-

4 mins in.

Now, not only was i shivering, the uncovered areas of my body was starting to turn slightly blue and my hair almost looked like icicles.I no longer felt the pain from my injuries not my legs. With each step, i felt increasingly heavier as if weights were strapped to my back. Even moving my joints seemed to make small creaking sounds.

This 4 minutes in my mind felt like hours of suffering as i thought about my choices and if i could have avoided the situation i was in while enduring the cold and striving forward.-what if i stayed quiet.-what if i had stayed at where i woke up waiting for the maintenance to complete.

With each breath, i felt my throat becoming stolen of its moisture, making me crave for water.

(Warmth. I need it.Shelter. Find.)

Nearing to the edge of something like a hill i was climbing, i saw it, a small hut surrounded my dead trees.

My strides on the snow which was previously clinging on to blind hope slowly change into a running motion

Although from far away, it may look like some beggar being delusional and running slowly like a pervert

From my perspective, it was a salvation from the heavens, giving me another chance in life. It was me desperately trying to get to the sanctuary in front of me.

Step.

I made it, im almost there.

I touched the door knob and mustered all of my strength and tried turning it.

Rip*

My skin directly peeled off of my hand leaving behind a dark red stain on the door knob

Even more blood spilled out of my hand, covering the entire door knob in blood.

I bit my lips with shivering teeth, causing even more blood to be spilled

Hands stained with blood, i clawed at the door.

“Anyone inside, let me in!!!”

I cried

out at the door with a parched voice

“Anyone?”

“Please, let me in”

“Anyone?”

It was then i felt my heartbeat slow down and my body warm up suddenly.

(This is how i die again?)

(And here i thought that dieing to a truck was bad)
