Chapter 22: I'm Too Kind
The convoy sped swiftly along the dirt road outside the city.
As time ticked by.
Suddenly, rows of ice spikes appeared on the road ahead, completely blocking the path.
The truck, unable to stop in time, crashed directly into them, finally rolling over and coming to rest on its side.
Like dominoes, the vehicles behind came to a halt.
"Dark Pavilion...
"Zhao Qingyi?"
A few people descended from the truck, gathering nervously together as they gazed at the ice spikes glistening under the moonlight, instinctively uttering these words.
Not far off, in a tree, a girl in a somewhat retro-style white dress looked down emotionlessly at them.
Behind the girl was a somewhat ethereal ice sculpture of a woman.
It radiated a chilling coldness.
Four pale blue crystals were embedded in it.
Suddenly, the second crystal flickered brightly, and the ice spikes on the ground shot out, shattering into tiny ice blades in mid-air and raining down.
"Ice Rain!"
"Damn it, didn’t the God-Servant say that Mo Pavilion wouldn’t dare to strike at us?"
Desperation echoed in their cries.
Even as awakened items—mere pens, papers, and even a mouse—scarcely appeared behind them, none bore a single crystal embedded.
In comparison...
They were pitiful.
In just a few seconds, these individuals lay on the ground, breathless with frustration.
The tiny ice blades, stained with fresh blood, melted and seeped into the earth.
Throughout, Zhao Qingyi’s expression remained unchanged, indifferent even to the carnage before her.
She turned and drifted lightly down from the tree.
Then...
She lost her balance and fell to the ground.
"Hisss..."
She quickly got up, cautiously surveyed her surroundings to ensure no one else was nearby, and once again, her expression turned icy as she disappeared into the night.
The ice sculpture behind her slowly faded and vanished.
"Did I just..."
"Experience an illusion?"
In the distance, a young man dressed in Mo Pavilion attire hid in the shadows, watching intently.
He asked with some hesitation.
Another companion uncertainly nodded, "It probably wasn’t an illusion... right?"
"My heart’s ice queen..."
For a moment, the Mo Pavilion youths hiding in the darkness felt as if their youth had ended with Zhao Qingyi’s fall.
The ice queen... who doesn’t love her?
But how did she melt like that?
"Let's move on to securing the supplies."
"If we’re late, the team leader is going to have our heads."
Only after Zhao Qingyi had completely disappeared did they hurriedly emerge, transferring all the boxes from the overturned truck to another vehicle. Then, they turned the vehicle around and headed back to Baichun.
On the road.
Zhao Qingyi walked calmly under the moonlight.
Her pace was leisurely.
Under the moonlight, her stunning face was captivating, like a fairy descended to the mortal realm.
Her ethereal beauty was enhanced by the retro-style white dress, making her stand out even more.
Soon, trucks sped past her, one after another.
The drivers from Mo Pavilion did not glance her way.
As if they had completely missed seeing a goddess.
For a moment, Zhao Qingyi’s figure stiffened slightly, and the corners of her mouth twitched, but she maintained her elegance.
...
“Pavilion Master Lin, does Mo Pavilion really lack sincerity like this?”
The phone rang.
The raspy voice was tinged with anger.
Pavilion Master Lin reluctantly set down the mouse, responding, "You talk as if you’re the good guy."

"I don’t make a move, and you release our people?"
"You guys just need a lesson."
"Really think I’m a cultured man because we chat a bit?"
"And still acting all high and mighty."
Pavilion Master Lin had lost the refined demeanor he had half an hour ago, now mocking through the phone.
Silence lingered on the other end for a long time.
It seemed unexpected that a provincial Mo Pavilion Branch's Vice Pavilion Master could have such a personality.
"Such a disgrace."
"You will pay the price."
The raspy voice turned icy cold before hanging up the phone.
"No need to put on such a deep voice."
"Think you're the best at voice suppression?"
"And you dare show up in Jiangbei Province pretending to be a tough guy? Sooner or later, I’ll drag you out and hang you up for a beating."
Pavilion Master Lin sneered, muttering a few words before shifting his focus back to the computer screen.
In the dimly lit office.
Only the computer screen continued to emit a faint glow, illuminating Pavilion Master Lin's somewhat balding and earnest face.
After a long while...
"Damn, lost again!"
"If it weren’t for that idiot’s call, how could I have possibly lost!"
"It completely broke my train of thought."
Pavilion Master Lin cursed under his breath, plunging back into a tense atmosphere.
...
"Let’s go!"
Glancing at his phone, the man in the suit coughed twice, stood up, and spoke fervently, "Brothers, the God-Servant just sent a message, saying he has been keeping an eye on us!"
"Even... God is watching."
"This time, we will all become God-Slaves."
"With God."
"Always by our side!"
The suit’s passionate speech fired everyone up.
The others also became excited, chanting, "With God!"
Their eyes were fixed on an abandoned factory in the distance.
Crazy yet devout.
"Go!"
The man in the suit yelled, leading the charge.
The others quickly followed.
Awakened items emerged behind them, with two crystals embedded in the suit’s awakened item.
"What’s the deal with this new God-Servant from the Cult?"
"Can't even get the intelligence work right."
"What good are these rejects?"
"Isn’t this just a waste of time?"
From a distance, Luo Yun watched them, curling his lip in disdain, muttering complaints with a disgruntled look, as a wolf shadow appeared behind him.
The first crystal lit up.
The fierce wolf lunged at Luo Yun, merging with him.
In the next moment, Luo Yun’s figure vanished, reappearing in front of the group.
"Heh heh."
"Eat my big smackdown!"
Luo Yun, somewhat excited, grinned, his pupils tinged with a hint of blue.
The next moment, he casually grabbed the chef by one hand and flung him against a tree.
Accompanied by a howl of pain, the chef screamed on the ground, unable to get up again.
The man in the suit panicked and turned to run.
The remaining beggar continued to mutter 'With God,' recklessly charging toward the factory.
"Forget it, let's leave them one to play with."
"Let them experience what the difference is between slaying demons and killing people!"
"Tsk tsk, I’m too kind."
Like a cat playing with a mouse, Luo Yun trailed behind the man in the suit, not forgetting to compliment himself.
