Chapter 30: Dark Pavilion
A few minutes later, the Principal returned, looking utterly distraught. His gaze toward Wang Wenxuan was filled with deep resentment.
It was as if any second now he would rush over, grab him by the collar, and roar in accusation, "You're in the Reserve Forces, why didn't you say so earlier!"
The Reserve Forces are so poor it's ridiculous—a bunch of soon-to-be soldiers, where the hell would the school's funding come from?
It's already a blessing they don’t come to the school to freeload meals.
A complete bunch of ruffians, ruffians!
And why in the world is a member of the Reserve Forces making decisions in the school's evaluation? I thought it would be someone from Mo Pavilion or even the Education Department.
I might have really been in trouble.
No!
That's not right!
Could this be a scam?
The Principal silently turned around, his gaze falling on Yu Sheng who was looking back calmly, causing the Principal’s heart to inexplicably twitch.
Thus, accompanied by Yu Sheng, Wang Wenxuan went to the cafeteria and enjoyed a feast that the Principal himself had never experienced over the years. Each bite they took seemed to painfully pierce his own heart.
Bleeding continuously.
At any moment, he could bleed out and die from the pain.
Especially since Wang Wenxuan couldn’t stop praising how discerning and righteous the Principal was, promising to return, which made him almost wish he could revert to his heroic days and knock this fool out with a hammer.
Gritting his teeth, he handed three demon crystals to Yu Sheng.
With that, the transaction was finally concluded satisfactorily.
Of course, he also took a three-day leave.
The reward for his act of bravery was indeed due for collection.
After briefly cleaning his house, Yu Sheng suddenly received a call from Zhao Zicheng.
"Yu-Ge1, your father, he..."
Zhao Zicheng's voice was filled with astonishment, as if he had witnessed something, "That old man is tough as nails."
"He's been mixing with the female Clerks in prison..."
"When I went to visit today, he wasn’t locked up in his cell; he was reading palms for a few female Clerks."
"It’s truly enviable."
It was as if the air was filled with the sourness of lemons, but soon, Zhao Zicheng took a deep breath, "But Yu-Ge, I am so clever."
"Under my careful planning, our uncle has received an additional sentence for indecency toward women," Zhao Zicheng said with a trace of pride in his voice.
"Prostitution and indecency are completely different matters."
"At least he shouldn't be thinking about getting out for a year now. I even made sure he was given a private cell, completely isolated from any female contact."
"Meals are delivered to him personally."
"I'm sure uncle must really appreciate my efforts now."
"As I was leaving, he was crying and screaming, saying he definitely wants to have a chat with me once he gets out."
"I didn't expect our uncle to be such a sentimental man; I was actually a bit ashamed at the time."
Zhao Zicheng struggled to suppress his laughter, adopting a mature, reflective tone.
Yu Sheng's eyes lit up.
"Brother for life!" he exclaimed.
After hanging up the phone, Yu Sheng felt unusually refreshed.
Wang Wenxuan, somehow, had managed to procure a military off-road vehicle and was now speeding with Yu Sheng toward Baichun City.
...
"The professionalism of your Demon Exorcism Pavilion really leaves much to be desired," complained a Clerk from the Dark Pavilion, frowning slightly as she looked at the barely recognizable Driver.
"Let it go, as long as he's alive."
"The charges for this operation will be transferred to your payroll card within three business days."
The Clerk seemed to be in a hurry, giving a few brief instructions before dragging the Driver away like a dead dog, leaving a long trail of blood on the ground.
Soon after, a janitor hurried over with a mop, cleaned the blood off the floor, and sprayed something that immediately eliminated the stench of blood, refreshing the air once again.

On the second-floor staircase.
A line of elderly women descended, each with a benevolent smile on their faces, reminiscent of the dearest family elders.
Each of these women carried a set of brand new clothes, hurriedly stuffing them into the cargo area of a truck.
A little while later, the bound girls emerged transformed, looking refreshed and even managing to smile faintly.
In just a few minutes, the impression the Dark Pavilion left on the third squad was one of sheer professionalism and opulence!
They even had a group of older women on hand to provide psychological support.
"Just how much must their payroll be each month!"
And that splendid hall, bustling with Clerks, not to mention all the unseen areas.
For a moment, members of the Demon Exorcism Pavilion couldn't help feeling a bit envious.
When it really comes down to it, both departments are on the same level, so why such a big difference?
Their Demon Exorcism Pavilion was just a plain two-story building.
Divided into several rooms.
All shabby and rundown.
They only had one Clerk who spent her days yawning behind the counter.
It wasn't that they weren't trying; it was just that in remote areas, there really weren't many impressive demon beasts.
On the rare occasion that one did appear, everyone would rush out like they were bloodthirsty, scrambling to get there first!
After all, those creatures, unless they were newly awakened, could be sold for money once defeated.
Sometimes, a demon beast would show up and before they could even act, it would be snatched away by passing members of the Security Bureau, the Reserve Forces, the Dark Pavilion, the Bounty Hall, or even some school teachers.
This left the Demon Exorcism Pavilion in name only.
Sometimes, they couldn't help but long for the central areas of the human territories.
Being at the core of human lands, where many demonic entities lurked and caused trouble, meant that the Demon Exorcism Pavilion there did brisk business and was quite affluent.
Rumor had it...
In the core area's Demon Exorcism Pavilion, when going out for breakfast, one could even order a bowl of soy milk and, during meals, have meat!
Meat!
That was simply outrageous.
They scrimped and saved every day, barely gathering enough money for cultivation resources, let alone splurging on meals.
So, in their eyes, anyone who could afford to eat meat was wealthy.
And those who could eat demon beast meat... they were considered gods among men, living in the clouds, unthinkable.
"Damn!"
"The jobs at the Dark Pavilion are the best!"
"Need to save up some money and move to a big city!"
Unable to hold back, one of the squad members grumbled.
Meanwhile, An Xin was all smiles: "You fools, what can you do with the little salary from the Dark Pavilion? It's barely enough to give to beggars!"
"You really think I can't make it without working for the Dark Pavilion?"
"Let me teach you something today."
"Let me show you where the real money in this job is."
Clearly in a great mood, An Xin waved her hand cheerfully, looking very adorable: "Brothers, let’s go to the Mo Pavilion!"
"I’m going to show you how to collect a bounty!"
"Do you know what it means to be a hero?"
"Making money is all about using your brain!"
With that, An Xin took the lead and turned to leave, while the others looked at each other in confusion.
"Being a hero?"
"Our mastermind An Xin has thought of another scheme..."

However, its use is limited to informal or familiar settings. In formal or serious situations, people tend to use full names or titles.
